Hey everyone, we have 41 on the Minne Wonka Facebook group! If you are on Facebook - join the group. If you are not on Facebook - join that and then join the group. It's an awesome venue for sharing photos and connecting with old friends!

My great grandparents, the lyons, and then my grandparents, the Niedners owned the camp in Three Lakes. I love hearing my mom and aunt talk about the experiences they had at the camp!

I certainly remember Dusty Rhoads from the Lyons-owned era. I had a slight crush on Dusty~~ he was very handsome and kind. RIP Dusty.

I am pleased to report that we are back online (no thanks to the Great Northeast Ice Storm of 2008) after a week without power (or water or heat). Thanks for your patience. Wishing everyone a happy and healthy holiday season.

I just called Becky Hanna...we believe Dusty's full name was Allan Rhoades, and that he had a sister, but we don't know if she would still be alive. We'll all have to sing "Rise up on flame" and light our candles in memory of dear Dusty.

Happy Holiday to one and all.

Just wanted to let everyone know that on December 5, 2008 Dusty Rhoads died. Dusty was with the Camp when the Lyons owned Minne Wonka Lodge. He was 95 years old and still lived in the house across from camp by sunset beach.

He will be missed by one and all.

Just came across this site. Oddly, had a dream two nights ago that involved people from MWL. Fond memories of wonderful people. Enjoyed reading your posts here, seeing many familiar names. I was in TL in July for a month with my wife and 3 kids. We stayed on Julia Lake and they loved having a... (more)

MINNE WONKA LODGE rocks! I wish I had known about the reunion and this site. I'd love to hear from everyone. I was in Trailside for several years. Are Tina, Sarah, Beth, Virginia, Charlotte, Betsy and Trinkie out there? What about Tucker and Lisa --- or the handsome camp craft counselor,... (more)

Anyone remember Hartzel Lyon and the canoe trips? Of the 50's, that is! I always liked the quote over the big lodge fireplace mantel--"where friends meet, hearts warm"; Thanks for the Website --brings a lot of good memories!

My mom was the cook for a year, and I came as the camper. I stayed all summer. I have some pix of feeding the chipmunks outside the lodge. It was a grand and glorious time in my life, I stayed in Balsam Bunk, I think it was around 63 or 64. I so enjoyed the early morning dips and riding and will... (more)

Just wanted to let people know that many former MWL people go to yahoo groups as there is a website for MWL. Go to yahoo.com/group/MWL Girls/files/ and then sign in. Also want to make sure this gets out-Linda Ramer was in a very bad auto accident on June 9th. She has lots of broken bones, but... (more)

Wow! I Googled Minne Wonka Lodge and found this site. I was a camper for 2 years, both as an Oneida I think the summers of 1972/73. I was in Windsong for sure and then Linden Lodge the second year? Without digging out my camp year books, I remember cabin mates Karen Mericle, Lee Upson, Laura... (more)

Oh my gosh, I was looking to see if there was anything on MWL on the internet, and found this! I attended this wonderful camp from 1959-1962 and would so love to get in touch with some of my cabin mates...especially: D.Dick, A. Wham, C. Timothy, B. Penhallagan, J. Rice, C. Jones and many more!... (more)

Wow! I was just researching whether Minne Wonka is still around and came across this web site. I had no idea there'd been a reunion; would love to attend if there's another in the future. I attended from 1973-76 and treasure the memory of those summers. It's so nice to see so many familiar names!
